MSHSL Coach Continuing Education Training
When you join the Nighthawk coaching staff, you will set up a user account through the MSHSL. This is free training.
Instructions and tutorials are available here: https://www.mshsl.org/coach-website-help-guide
Select Fieldhaven Academy for the school (the host school for the coops--boys and girls cross country) when prompted.
All Nighthawk coaches must complete MSHSL Coach Continuing Education (CER) Training before they are able to work with student-athletes. This training involves completing several online courses, typically 10-30 minutes each, for a total of 2-3 hours. Some are required annually, others every 3 years. Electives are encouraged but not required.
ASTHMA
This is good, basic training--also free: https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/asthma/communities/training.html
CPR/FIRST AID
If you are interested, NHAC will pay for/reimburse your course fees to take at least the online portion of the Red Cross course. The course costs about $35 and can be taken online: Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED. If you find a similar or additional in-person course, that is fine as well.
Just let the program directors know, and once you have the certificate, we will reimburse you.
